Morocco earthquake kills thousands, reducing homes to rubble as rescue teams search for survivors
A powerful magnitude-6.8 earthquake in Morocco has killed thousands and destroyed many buildings.
The earthquake struck Morocco’s High Atlas mountains late on Friday night (local time).
According to the interior ministry, at least 2,012 people have been killed and 2,059 were injured in the quake.

People have been queuing at Marrakesh Menara Airport in Morocco to try and get out of the region.
Many homes were destroyed in the earthquake, including Abdellatif Ait Bella’s home.
Mr Bella was injured and had to sleep outside with his wife among the debris.
Rescue teams have been working tirelessly to try to recover people from the rubble.
Mohammed Elhmatif has to find his sons a place to live after their house was destroyed by the earthquake.
People had to race out of their homes to avoid being trapped in the rubble.
