Match report from England MU19s versus Switzerland

The Swiss did equalise moments later though when England misjudged a long ball and Beney Romeo was able to slide it home.

Parity only lasted two minutes though as another sloppy error at the back allowed Bobby Clark to pinch the ball off the goalkeeper and Dominic Ballard was able to tap into the empty net.

England thought they had a third just after the half-hour mark when an impressive pass from Lewis Miley fed Kellyman and he put Ballard through. But the Southampton striker’s delicious dink over the goalkeeper was ruled out by the linesman’s flag.

It was to be Switzerland who got the game’s fourth goal when they won possession in England’s half and Romeo grabbed his second of the afternoon.

England responded immediately once again, as Clark cut inside from the left and hit a shot which trickled wide of the post.

The advantage was restored just before the hour-mark though as Noel Buck, who was making his first start for England, played a one-two in midfield before evading a challenge and rifling a shot from outside the box into the bottom corner.

It was then 4-2 on 65 minutes as Cozier-Dubbery drove into the box on the right and picked out substitute Ashley Phillips, with his first-time shot going in courtesy of a deflection.
